Hurricane Preparedness Checklist

By Chad Jenkins on 09/12/2018
As Hurricane Florence approaches with the threat of damaging winds and rain, the potential for impact is top of mind for many business owners. Fortunately, with the right proactive planning, many of the negative effects of the storm can be mitigated. The following high-level checklist incorporates a few of the items we review in our client environments to ensure they are prepared for the worst.

Accessibility Checklist

In the event the office becomes inaccessible, does each team member have the remote access they need to continue their work?

Water Checklist Items

Are all local computing resources elevated above ground and away from windows?

Wind Checklist Affecting Power and Transformers

Are all computing resources properly powered down including servers, phone systems, alternate power sources and networking equipment?

Are they unplugged from power or plugged into a proper surge protector?

Internet Outage Checklist

In the event of a temporary internet outage, does your network have a backup cellular connection?
