So you have an iPhone but are you getting full use of all its features? Here are 8 quick tips about the headphones that came with you iPhone 4S, 5, or 5S:
1. Activate Siri
Simply tap and hold the center button between the plus and minus symbols on the earbud controller located about halfway down the cord. Then once you hear the tones, tell Siri what you need to get done.
2. Answer and End Calls
If you see an incoming call, tap the center button once to enter into that call. Tapping on the same center button again during the call terminates that call.
3. Ignore Incoming Calls
If you see an incoming call that you don't wish to answer at the time, press and hold the center button between the plus and minus symbols. After a few seconds release that button. When you hear two beeps, that indicates the call has been disconnected.
4. Switch Between Calls
If you are in the middle of a call and see an incoming call, tap the center button once to switch to the new incoming call. Press and hold that same center button for two seconds and it should end that newest call and leave you with the original caller still on the line.
5. Take a Picture
This trick is a little different, because it requires you are already in the default iPhone Camera app. To quickly get there in iOS 7 flick up from the bottom of your screen and select the camera icon located opposite the instant flash light icon. Once inside the camera app, use the "volume up" plus symbol to snap the picture. The volume up button on the side of the iPhone also takes a picture. This trick doesn't work for Instagram or any other camera related apps.
6. Play or Pause a Song or Video
Once you have your music of video going the center button between the plus and minus symbols allows you to play or pause with a tap.
7. Fast Forward or Rewind a Song
Press that same center button twice and hold down on the second tap to fast forward. Tap three times and hold down on the third tap to rewind.
8. Skip to the Next Song
Press that same center button twice without any holding to skip to the next song. Triple tap to go to the previous track.
