Modernizing a Modern Business - Meet the Transformation Continuum

Written by Samuel Adams | 10/02/2020

You’ve likely heard a lot about the Digital Transformation over the past few years – whether from an innovative business guru, a technology aficionado, or even from our team here at SeedSpark. It’s true – technology has wholly revolutionized businesses across every industry in the past ten years, introducing new business processes and improving the way that teams work.

By 2020, most businesses have modernized and adopted technology in some capacity. Client relationship and project management software are commonplace, leaving many business owners believing they’ve hit their peak and have finished their Digital Transformation. The reality is that the Digital Transformation is actually a part of something larger - the Transformation Continuum. This continual cycle combines the Digital Transformation with the Business Transformation, improving every element of a business to make it into a workplace of the future.

As a leading Microsoft 365 integrator, SeedSpark partners with companies across the southeast to assess, plan, and implement strategies for teams interested in leveraging the power of technology. Our team recently partnered with WB Moore, a giant in both the construction and engineering industries, to improve the foundation of their communication and file management techniques to create a workflow optimized for their daily processes.

WB Moore had already taken several steps to improve their business processes through the power of Microsoft 365. By adopting Microsoft’s productivity program suite, their team had already begun to enhance communication and file management. WB Moore contacted SeedSpark to take the foundation that they had laid down, analyze the way that their team worked, and improve it by using technology already at their disposal.

Our team began by meeting with the WB Moore team and actively listening to the problems that they were facing in their day to day operations. The main challenge became clear: organization. A combination of an unorganized local digital filing system and a non-uniform collection of apps being used company-wide created a communication breakdown adding unnecessary additional steps to every business process.

SeedSpark began by implementing Microsoft Teams as the sole professional communication platform across WB Moore’s entire organization. Keeping everyone on the same platform breaks down communication barriers, keeping everyone updated on the latest news for each project. Within Microsoft Teams, our team developed a departmental SharePoint hub for each portion of the WB Moore team. This cloud-based file management system, integrated within the team’s communication platform, allows each department to locate and share the files that they need faster than ever before without having the hassle of parsing through digital piles of files from outside of their department.

While WB Moore was already well into their Transformation Continuum, connecting with SeedSpark as a partner allowed their team to “get more bang for their buck” out of their existing technology. No hardware was purchased, no extra software was needed, no new IT infrastructure. SeedSpark meets each client where they are, designing unique solutions that take advantage of resources that you already have, performing improvements without unnecessary cost.
